PWSB Salary Survey Reports now live
After collecting data from cities for a little over three months, the Iowa Public Works Service Bureau’s (PWSB’s) Salary Survey Reports are live.
City staff interested in reviewing the Salary Survey Reports to get a better idea of what other cities are paying their public works employees—and without conducting a more expensive compensation study—must be Iowa PWSB members and logged in to submit their data; however, joining is free and allows access all of the Iowa PWSB’s resources.
“These reports offer comprehensive data on local compensation trends across various public works categories and job roles,” said Iowa PWSB Program Specialist Beth Richards. “Additionally, to address differences among city populations, the salary data is separated into two reports—one for cities with populations exceeding 10,000 and another for cities with populations below 10,000.”
A couple paragraphs at the top of each page provide more detailed instructions for viewing the reports and resetting information to look at different data.
While the Salary Survey Reports are live, the Iowa PWSB continues to encourage cities to submit their salary data, and submission instructions remain available at the main Salary Survey Reports page.
“These reports already can provide valuable insights for businesses and professionals to assess competitive pay structures and make informed decisions,” Richards said. “We have a great start, but we’re still a long way from having all 940 cities’ submissions, so please keep them coming!”
In addition to the Salary Survey Reports, the Iowa PWSB also offers a variety of other reports: financial, street, bridge condition, and bid tabulation, among other pieces of valuable information. The reports are updated regularly.
