InTrans releases En Route, annual report for 2025 calendar year

2025 Institute for Transportation Annual Report displayed atop an easelEach and every project at the Institute for Transportation (InTrans) owes its success to the work of the institute’s people and its agency or industry partners, as well as an abundance of Iowa innovation.

Faculty, staff, and student efforts throughout the year resulted in publications and tools, including videos and educational modules, that reflect innovative developments and processes. These projects will help improve safety and lead to strategies for more resilient roadways.

En Route, the annual report for InTrans, offers a chance to stop to celebrate our accomplishments during the past year and appreciate the hard work underway now that will provide future benefits.

The recently published annual report for calendar year 2025 includes a summary of the work performed by the institute’s 14 centers and programs as well as the year’s highlights and accomplishments.

“Our efforts to change and challenge the science behind everything we do are always ongoing, but a steady constant remains: a dedication to our partners in state agencies, industry groups, and the federal government,” said Shauna Hallmark, InTrans Director.

She added, “We appreciate their continued confidence in our efforts as we deliver on that shared promise of creating, sharing, and applying transportation knowledge to those in Iowa and beyond.”

InTrans’s achievements in 2025 included completing more than 70 projects, organizing and holding 125+ events, and collaborating with students, colleagues, practitioners, and industry to further our mission.

“This has also been a year of milestones for InTrans centers and programs,” Hallmark said, pointing to statewide recognition of two summer outreach programs and the National Concrete Pavement Technology Center’s (CP Tech Center’s) 25th anniversary.

In addition to detailing the events held and publications produced in 2025, the annual report includes the following highlights, among others:

  • Major InTrans accomplishments, including from the Asphalt Materials and Pavements Program, CP Tech Center, and Real-Time Analytics of Transportation Data Laboratory
  • Awards and honors received by InTrans staff and students
  • Insights into InTrans by the numbers

“These accomplishments are not an end to our mission, but the beginning,” Hallmark said. “It is a credit to our faculty, staff, and students that InTrans had another successful year in 2025.”
