Project description

This project addresses INDOT’s need for sustainable, high-performance concrete by improving the mechanical and durability characteristics of Portland Limestone Cement (PLC) Concrete. Deliverables include optimized mixture design guidelines, machine learning-based predictive models, microstructural insights into the interfacial transition zone (ITZ), and validated performance data. These outcomes will support INDOT’s transition to lower-carbon materials without compromising structural reliability, enabling broader use of PLC in pavements and bridge decks.
