Project description

The research team will develop optimum designs for longitudinal steel, including the amount of steel as well as the depths of each layer of steel. Researchers will obtain detailed Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement (CRCP) structural responses from field experiments, analyze the data, and develop the optimum steel designs for thick CRCP. The research team will develop and present field experimental plans to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for its feedback and concurrence. Once TxDOT approves, the research team will conduct field testing per the approved experimental plans and present the data and its analysis results as well as its implications to the research team. Researchers will also provide any technical assistance that might be needed for the implementation of the findings.
