Just published: Patch repair mortar

This report by Kejin Wang, PhD, and Gilson Lomboy, PhD, discusses the development and testing of a green, highly flowable, rapid-set, high-performance mortar (HPM) for rapid repair of concrete pavements. The mortar includes a high volume of industrial by-/co-products like flay ash, silica fume, and limestone fines. Of particular interest is the performance of the mortar compared to a commercial rapid-set concrete (RSC) in tests of mechanical properties and durability. Photos below show the mass reduction in HPM prisms (left) and RSC prisms (right) after 300 freeze-thaw cycles. (final report, tech transfer summary)
