Welcome, Peter Taylor
Peter Taylor
Peter Taylor joined the CP Tech Center on July 1, 2007, as associate director. His responsibilities include managing some of the ongoing research projects (such as mix design and analysis [track 1] of CP Road Map) and initiating new projects.
Taylor received his Ph.D. (1995) and B.S. (1982) degrees in civil engineering at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. After graduation, he spent several years working in South Africa.
Since 1997 and before joining CP Tech Center, Taylor worked at Construction Technology Laboratories (CTL) as a principal engineer and group manager in the materials consulting group. He is a registered professional engineer in Illinois and a member of ACI, ASTM Committee C9, and TRB Committees AFN30 and AFN40.
His wife, Christine, and three kids, Sian (16), Erica (14), and Simon (9), are adjusting to the more relaxed lifestyle of Ames after living for several years in fast-paced Chicago. The girls are nervously waiting for school to start. Sharing a building with 350 students instead of 2,500 will be different, to say the least.
