State Visits

A visit will be scheduled for each participating state to meet with state DOT representatives, ACPA chapter personnel, and FHWA division representatives. The visits will accomplish a number of purposes:
- Inform those in attendance about the pooled fund project research and receive their input.
- Discuss and record state practice in the areas of material specification, mix design, and construction practices.
- Search for unpublished and other in-house research that relate to issues involved in this research.
- Clarify and discuss project information provided by each state through the data collect form, which identify projects with early distress.
- If projects with distress are near the DOT facilities where the meeting is held, a field trip to view the pavement may also be included.
These visits will be conducted by the research staff with the goal of being completed shortly after the first of the year. This information will be presented in the Integrating Materials and Construction Practices Manual that will be prepared as a part this research.
